Always it seems he

Had something else on his mind

Maybe he missed her

Was hoping she would come home

Years before right after they married.

He is waiting for his wife he hopes and prays that she would come home. All he has been thinking about is her "was hoping she would come home" (pg),.

Children left for school

Boxes and suitcases everywhere

Packed and ready to go

Envelope tossed away somewhere

She pulled on her white silk gloves.

Everyday life is going on for now but the mother is aware that they will be leaving soon. " Boxes and suitcases everywhere" (PG 4), She has everything packed up in the house and is aware that the time to leave is coming.

Play dead boy play dead

His paws went limp his head turned

Trickle of blood seeped out

She untied him from the tree

Deep breath, she began to bury him.

She was protecting the dog in her own way. i believe that maybe she didnt want the dog to beleft behind like how she was leaving her life behind, or for the dog to see its world leaving him.
